EVEE Tyre Date Codes: Age Is Different from Wear

An EVEE tyre’s manufacturing date and its visible wear answer different buying questions. A tyre can look little-used without being recently made. A date code can help identify age, but it cannot certify condition, remaining life or correct fit on an individual scooter.

Michelin’s motorcycle-tyre marking guide explains the week-and-year date field used with DOT markings. Its replacement guidance treats age, wear and damage as relevant considerations. These manufacturer references explain tyre-reading principles; they do not identify the brand, date or condition of any EVEE tyre offered by MallWal. Sources reviewed 17 October 2026.

Read the date field, not just any four digits

In the date field described by Michelin, the first two digits identify the manufacturing week and the last two identify the year. For example, 2325 means week 23 of 2025. It does not mean 23 May, a mileage figure or the date the scooter was sold.

The example is a decoding exercise, not a reading from an EVEE in stock. Tyre sidewalls carry other numbers too. First identify the marking system and the actual date field using the tyre manufacturer’s information. Do not interpret every four-digit number as a production date.

Nor should you assume every tyre sold in Pakistan carries the same DOT marking arrangement. If the date identification is unclear, ask the manufacturer or a qualified tyre professional to interpret the actual marking. An unfamiliar or absent DOT field alone is not proof of counterfeiting, legal noncompliance or a particular manufacturing age.

Keep manufacture, fitting and purchase dates separate

Three dates with different meanings
DateWhat it recordsWhat it does not prove
Manufacturing dateWhen the identified tyre was madeWhen it was fitted or first used
Fitting dateWhen that tyre was installed, if reliably recordedThat it was manufactured that same month
Scooter purchase/handover dateWhen the vehicle changed handsThe age of every tyre or the start of every applicable coverage period

For a used EVEE, an old vehicle invoice may relate to a different tyre from the one now fitted. Conversely, a recently purchased scooter does not make its tyre manufacture date identical to the sale date. Match each record to the actual item rather than allowing one date to stand for all three.

Age is not the same as wear or condition

Michelin explains that tyres can age even without use and that serviceability depends on more than tread appearance. Storage and use history matter, alongside damage and wear. A recent date therefore cannot overrule an adverse condition finding, while a date alone does not supply a complete assessment.

For a buying decision, record age information separately from what an appropriate professional concludes about condition. Avoid shortcuts such as “deep tread means almost new” or “this date proves several years of safe use remain.” This article supplies no universal EVEE tyre expiry date, Pakistan age limit or warranty deadline.

Check front and rear as separate items

Do not assume both tyres were made or replaced together. If the markings are safely visible, keep a clear record for each position: brand/model marking, size, identifiable date field and the source used to decode it. If access is awkward, let an appropriate professional inspect it; do not remove parts or put yourself beneath an unsupported vehicle to obtain a photo.

The EVEE brakes and tyres guide covers the separate fitment-specification questions. A correctly decoded date does not prove the size, rating or fitment is suitable for the scooter.

Use a date question at the right stage of buying

At the enquiry stage, ask how the actual tyre identification and condition can be checked for the offered unit. At inspection or handover, retain the applicable record and any unresolved point. The handover checklist helps keep that observation attached to the correct vehicle.

For a second-hand purchase, use the used-EVEE guide alongside this decoding explanation. A professional condition assessment and an accurate marking record are more useful than treating tyre age as a single pass/fail shortcut for the whole scooter.

Prepare a focused EVEE purchase enquiry

State your city, model preference, daily use, charging arrangement, budget and purchase timing, together with the specific unresolved buying question. Choose one route:

Physical-installment assessment is for eligible Sialkot customers only, subject to verification and approval. Eligible credit-card customers throughout Pakistan may enquire subject to actual issuer and merchant terms, confirmed scooter availability and delivery eligibility. You can also use Request a Product or the main EVEE buying hub. Review the prepared message before sending. Keep identity-document images, card numbers, PINs, passwords and OTPs out of the initial enquiry.
